SECTION ONE – Overview of SOP 81-1 Review the application of contract accounting including when it is appropriate to use percentage of- completions vs. completed contract. Discuss properly including costs in the contract accounting, the basis for estimating progress towards completion, and financial statement disclosures.
SECTION TWO – Funded Development Arrangements Discuss what constitutes a funded development arrangement and the provisions of SFAS No. 68. Discuss how and when revenue should be recognized in a funded development arrangement and what costs should be included. |
